What is sterling silver? How is it different from silver-plated?
Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver mixed with 7.5% other metals (usually copper) for durability. All our pieces are stamped 925 - the internationally recognized mark for sterling silver.
Silver-plated jewelry is a base metal (often brass or copper) coated with a thin layer of silver. That coating wears off within months. Sterling silver is solid all the way through. it's a completely different product.
Will my jewelry tarnish or turn my skin green?
Sterling silver can tarnish over time - it's a natural reaction with sulfur compounds in the air, not a sign of poor quality. Pieces worn regularly tend to stay brighter than ones sitting in a drawer, since the friction keeps them polished.
The skin-greening issue is mostly associated with low-quality silver-plated pieces, not solid 925 sterling silver. For most people it doesn't happen. If you have very acidic skin chemistry, there's a small chance of a reaction, but it's uncommon with genuine sterling.
Are the diamonds real? What is moissanite?
We use two types of stones: lab grown diamonds and moissanite. Both are real — not glass, not cheap simulants.
Lab grown diamonds are chemically identical to mined diamonds. Same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), same brilliance, same structure. They're made in a controlled environment rather than pulled out of the ground.
Moissanite (silicon carbide) was first discovered in a meteor crater. It scores 9.25 on the Mohs scale and actually produces more colored light dispersion than diamond - some people love that sparkle, others prefer the classic diamond look. We'll note which stone is used in each product listing.
Can I wear Silvora Carats jewelry in the shower or while swimming?
We'd recommend taking it off. Chlorine in pools speeds up tarnishing and can weaken prong settings. Saltwater is even harsher. Shower products leave residue that dulls the shine faster than plain water would.
It won't ruin a piece immediately, but it's the kind of habit that shortens the lifespan of jewelry. A quick dry with a soft cloth after any water exposure helps a lot if you do forget.
Is Silvora Carats jewelry sustainable?
Lab grown diamonds and moissanite have a much smaller environmental footprint than mined stones no land disruption, no tailings, no habitat destruction. Sterling silver mining has its own environmental cost, but silver is one of the most recycled metals globally, and jewelry-scale quantities are significantly smaller than industrial mining operations.
Order & Return & Refund
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
We start processing orders quickly so we can get them to you fast - which unfortunately means there's a short window to make changes. If you need to cancel or adjust something, email us at contact@silvoracarats.com immediately after placing the order. We'll do our best, but we can't promise we'll catch it in time if it's already packed and labelled.
My order shows delivered but I haven't received it. What do I do?
First, check around your delivery spot - sometimes couriers leave packages with a neighbor or in a building mailroom. Give it 24 hours in case there's a scan delay.
If it's still not there after that, email us with your order number. We'll investigate with the carrier. All our packages are insured, so if it's genuinely lost, we'll sort it out for you.
Do you offer returns and exchanges?
Yes - we accept returns and exchanges within 15 days of delivery, no lengthy explanations needed. Items need to be unworn and in their original packaging. Return shipping is on you.

What if my jewelry arrives damaged or defective?
That's on us to fix. Send us a photo of the issue along with your order number and we'll arrange a replacement or full refund your choice. We take quality seriously and want to know if something isn't right.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to a wide range of countries - you'll see available regions at checkout. International delivery typically takes 9–10 business days depending on the destination and customs clearance. All international packages are insured.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships you'll receive an email with a tracking number and a link to follow it. If you haven't heard anything within your expected processing window, check your spam folder first - then contact us with your order number.
Is the packaging discreet? I'm buying a gift.
The outer shipping box is completely plain - no Silvora Carats branding on the outside. Inside, the jewelry comes in our gift-ready packaging. Perfect for surprises that might arrive before the big day.
Sizing & Engraving
How do I find my ring size?
The most reliable way is to visit a local jeweler and have your finger measured - it takes two minutes and is usually free. If that's not possible, measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits using a ruler in millimeters, then match it to our size chart.
A few things to know: fingers swell slightly in the evening and in hot weather. If you're between sizes, size up - especially for eternity bands (stones all the way around), which have limited resizing options.
Do you offer free ring resizing?
Yes, completely free. If your ring doesn't fit, contact us with your order number and the size you need and we'll take care of it. Some full eternity bands have limits on how much they can be adjusted, but we'll tell you upfront if that's the case.
What ring size should I order if it's a surprise gift?
The average women's ring size is US 6–7, and for men it's around US 10. That's a wide spread, so if you can find out without spoiling the surprise - borrow a ring they wear on that finger, check with a friend or family member that's better.
Do you offer free engraving?
Yes - engraving is free on all eligible pieces. You can add a name, date, initials, short message, or coordinates. If a product supports engraving, the option will appear at Product Page or Checkout.
Just double-check your spelling before confirming engraved pieces are made to order and aren't returnable unless there's an error on our end.
Can I order a fully custom design not on your website?
We do take custom orders, particularly for engagement and proposal rings where you have a specific vision in mind. See our Customization Process page for how it works and expected timelines. It's not instant, but for the right piece it's worth it.
